Cancellation Policy

Quick Summary

Online sign-up means online cancellation. The detail below covers the exact mechanics, deadlines, and contact paths.

Need to cancel right now?

  • One-time order: email info@americanpeptides.us with subject "Cancel Order #[number]" as quickly as possible. Emailing within an hour gives the best chance of catching the order, but it does not guarantee cancellation — see Section 1 below.
  • Subscribe & Save subscription: log into checkout.americanpeptides.us with the email you used at checkout, click "My Subscriptions," and hit Cancel — or email info@americanpeptides.us with subject "Cancel Subscription."

1. One-Time Orders

One-time orders may be cancelled only if your cancellation request reaches us before the order has been processed for shipment. Once a tracking number has been generated and the order has entered fulfillment, the order can no longer be cancelled.

Important — there is no guaranteed cancellation window. We process orders very quickly. During business hours, orders frequently move from "received" to "fulfilled" within minutes — sometimes faster than we can read and act on a cancellation email. Emailing within 1 hour gives you the best chance of catching the order, but it is not a guarantee. If the order has already been processed for shipment when we receive your request, we cannot cancel it. We will notify you of the order's status as soon as we see your message.

How to request a one-time order cancellation

  1. Email info@americanpeptides.us immediately
  2. Subject line: Cancel Order #[Your Order Number]
  3. Include your order number and the email used at checkout
  4. We will reply within 2 business hours with one of two outcomes: (a) the order has been cancelled and a full refund issued, or (b) the order has already entered fulfillment and cannot be cancelled, with next-step guidance

2. Subscribe & Save Subscriptions

American Peptides offers a Subscribe & Save program that delivers your selected research peptides on a recurring schedule (typically every 60 days) at a locked-in discount. Subscriptions are billed automatically through our payment processor (TagadaPay) on the cadence you chose at checkout.

2.1 Cancellation rights

You may cancel your Subscribe & Save subscription at any time, for any reason, with no early-termination fee. Per the FTC's "Click-to-Cancel" rule (16 CFR Part 425), cancellation is available through the same online channel you used to enroll.

2.2 Cancellation deadline relative to billing

  • Cancel before the next billing date and the subscription is terminated immediately. No further charges will be made and no further shipments will be sent.
  • Cancel after a billing has already processed and the cancellation will apply to all future cycles. The already-processed order will ship as scheduled and is non-refundable. Refer to Refund & Shipping Policy for limited exceptions (damaged/non-conforming items only).
  • You will receive an email reminder approximately 3 days before each upcoming charge so you have a window to cancel, pause, or skip if needed.

2.3 Three ways to cancel

  1. Self-service portal (fastest): Log into checkout.americanpeptides.us using the email you used at checkout. Click My Subscriptions, find the subscription you want to cancel, and click Cancel. Confirmation is instant.
  2. Email: Send an email to info@americanpeptides.us with subject line "Cancel Subscription — [Your Order Number or Account Email]." We will confirm cancellation within 2 business days.
  3. Account dashboard: If you created a Shopify account at checkout, you can also manage subscriptions from your account dashboard.

2.4 Pause, skip, or change frequency

If you don't want to cancel outright but need a break, you have three alternatives — all available in the same self-service portal:

  • Pause the subscription for any number of days; resume any time
  • Skip the next scheduled order without cancelling the subscription
  • Change frequency to a longer cadence (e.g., from 30 days to 60 or 90 days) or change the next billing date

2.5 Cancellation confirmation

Every cancellation generates an immediate confirmation email to the address on your account. Please retain this email — it is your proof of cancellation. If you do not receive a confirmation email within 24 hours of submitting a cancellation request, contact us immediately at info@americanpeptides.us.

3. Failed Payments on Subscriptions

If a recurring payment fails (insufficient funds, expired card, declined transaction), our payment processor will:

  1. Send an automated email notification to the address on your account
  2. Retry the payment up to 3 times over 5 business days
  3. If all retries fail, automatically pause the subscription (no shipment is sent)
  4. Hold the subscription paused until you provide updated payment information via the customer portal

A paused subscription is not cancelled. To fully cancel, follow the steps in Section 2.3.

4. Refunds Related to Cancellations

Cancellation of a future shipment means you are not charged and not shipped. There is no refund involved — nothing has been paid for the cancelled cycle.

For refunds on shipments already processed, see our Refund & Shipping Policy. In short: research-use peptides are non-returnable except in cases of (a) damaged or visually compromised vials at delivery, (b) products that fail independent purity verification, or (c) shipping errors on our part.

Chargebacks: If you wish to dispute a charge, please contact us first at info@americanpeptides.us. We resolve nearly every issue within 48 hours when given the chance. Initiating a chargeback before contacting us delays resolution and may result in account suspension. Chargebacks initiated more than 60 days after the original charge are typically denied by the card network regardless of merit.

5. Your Statutory Cancellation Rights (United States)

This policy is designed to comply with all applicable U.S. federal and state subscription-cancellation laws, including:

  • FTC Click-to-Cancel Rule (16 CFR Part 425): Cancellation must be at least as easy as enrollment. We honor this.
  • FTC Negative Option Rule: We obtain affirmative consent before each subscription enrollment and disclose the recurring nature of the charge at checkout.
  • California Auto-Renewal Law (Cal. Bus. & Prof. Code § 17602): California residents who enrolled online have full online cancellation rights.
  • Vermont 9 V.S.A. § 2454a: Vermont residents have written-cancellation rights and may receive a confirmation acknowledgment by mail upon request.
  • State auto-renewal laws (NY, IL, OR, etc.): Pre-billing notification, cancellation receipts, and method-of-cancellation parity are provided as required.

6. Research Use Reminder

All products sold by American Peptides are intended strictly for in vitro laboratory research purposes only. They are not for human or veterinary consumption. Cancellation of an order does not alter the representations made at the time of purchase regarding research use and compliance with applicable laws.
